Almost certainly yes if your phone is a recent model, but a five-minute check saves airport disappointment. The old GSM versus CDMA divide barely matters anymore; nearly every country runs on GSM-family 4G LTE networks now, and many have shut down 2G and 3G entirely. What actually determines compatibility is frequency bands.
Here's the check. Find your exact model number in Settings under About Phone, then pull up the manufacturer's spec sheet for that variant, since the same phone sold in different regions supports different bands. Compare its LTE and 5G bands against what the destination's major carriers use; several websites let you look this up by country and carrier. You want overlap on the carriers' primary coverage bands, not necessarily every band.
Two extra things people forget: voice. In countries that have retired 3G, calls require VoLTE, and some phones only enable VoLTE on whitelisted carriers, so a data connection can work while calls don't. And confirm the phone is unlocked.
