Generally, FRRO registration is not required if the person is staying in India on a valid 1-year e-Tourist Visa and the continuous stay does not exceed 180 days. If the stay may cross 180 days, the person should contact the local FRRO/e-FRRO office before the limit is reached. There is usually no separate requirement to leave India after 90 days for a 1-year e-Tourist Visa, but the traveller must ensure they follow the maximum stay condition mentioned on their visa/ETA and by Indian immigration authorities.
