A. Standard Route (10-Year Rule)
You must have lived in Japan for 10 consecutive years on a valid visa.
Out of these 10 years, you must have spent at least 5 years on a work visa (e.g., Engineer, Specialist in Humanities, Skilled Labor, etc.).
You must have no significant legal violations or gaps in residence.
B. Highly Skilled Professional (HSP) Route
If you qualify as a Highly Skilled Professional, you can apply for PR in just 1 to 3 years:
1 Year: If you score 80 points or more on the HSP Points System.
3 Years: If you score 70 points or more on the HSP Points System.
C. Spouse of a Japanese Citizen or PR Holder
